Sometimes users like to make screenshots, to share information quickly.
A simple slider should work. I do not think this option will have too many negative consequences.

As far as I remember, the main reason for not allowing screenshots is that the OS will screenshot the last activity of the app and show it in the recents app view, even if Briar has been locked.
In the meantime if a user doesn't use app lock or a panic button (only functions which would lock the database outside of the app?) it would not really impact him if we would have a signing out screen (I think we have one?) because the last screen will be of signing out. Is that correct?
So I would like to offer to use a setting (with warnings about dangers) which would allow screenshots if panic button or app lock is not set or we could just wait for an update.
Did we have more requests for a screenshot feature?
What do you think?

The OS takes a screenshot whenever you move between apps, not only when you sign out.
If you're running a debug build you'll see the content of the Briar window in the recent apps list - this is the OS screenshot, which is stored on disk. If you're running a release build the Briar window will be blank in the recent apps list because screenshots are disabled.
Why is this rejected? If there is a warning, that the screenshot feature will show the content to the OS in some cases would be enough for the user to decide for himself if he/she accepts that risk.
Alternatively, we could add a timeout for the screenshot feature, to enable it for just one minute or so.
With a screenshot-feature you would have a minimal opportunity to do some backups of your most valuable conversations. At the moment the only possibility, I see is to use an external camera to make photos of your phone displaying the chat you want to "backup".
An even more improvement would be, to have the possibility to backup all your conversations on your phone, for sure ;) (#110)
